Tasks include but are not limited to: receiving, inspection, cleaning decontamination, instrument set assembly, sterilization and re-distribution of all reusable instruments and supplies. SPM Microsystems Computer technology will be used for tracking all tasks.High school graduate. One year Healthcare experience or Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program and/or Central Service Certification. Ability to follow directions; read, write and understands English. Must demonstrate the ability and motivation to be a self-starter. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate with all customers in a courteous, professional and tactful manner. Demonstrate the ability to follow and complete all assignments accurately. Possess excellent communication skills, dependable and flexible with assignments. Must consistently function within the departmental guidelines for productivity standards.Includes, but not limited to constant, reaching, lifting, bending, standing, excessive walking, stooping, pulling and pushing heavy loaded instrument carts. Must be able to consistently lift fifty pounds. Must be able to wear and function in hospital provided Personal Protection Equipment for protection against blood and body fluids, sharps and sharp instruments. Must be able to work in all areas of Central Service under stressful conditions. All tasks are repetitive and consistent in nature.
