Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum/Women's Services
Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital has a dynamic opportunity for a Nurse Manager II responsible for 3 departments: Labor and Delivery, Postpartum (Mother/Baby), and Gyn/Women's Services (Job ID#20891).
Qualified candidates for the Women's Services, Labor and Delivery Nurse Manager position will possess the following:
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
-Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) or actively pursuing within 12 months of obtaining position
- Current Registered Nurse licensure to practice in the State of Texas
- Three (3) years of clinical experience as a RN
- Current CPR for Healthcare Providers, ACLS and NRP certifications
- Experience in Labor and Delivery, and Postpartum/Gyn.
- Charge Nurse or Clinical Coordinator/Supervisor experience
Practices within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Proactive problem solving skills.
Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills - MS Word, Outlook, computerized charting, reports.
Time management skills.
Must be flexible with schedule - to meet with the Night and weekend staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Progressive leadership responsibility
- Managerial experience
Responsible for scheduling, staffing, evaluations, Patient satisfaction, Quality, Unit Practice Council, monthly staff meetings, participating in Hospital committees, assisting with the pursuit of MAGNET status and Baby Friendly distinction, and being supportive of Women's and Infants initiatives.
This opportunity is to manage 3 departments that include:
- Labor & Delivery (13-LDR's, 2 OR suites and triage)
- Postpartum (Mother/Baby) and
- Gyn surgery/Med/Surg overflow of female patients (total of 32 Postpartum and Gyn rooms)
Shift: Full Time, Mainly Monday-Friday Daytime hours - 7:30AM-5PM, however must be flexible to meet with the Night and weekend staff.
DUTIES:
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
- Plans, organizes and delegates activities as required for safe, efficient and effective operation of the unit/area including active participation with other hospital and leadership staff to accomplish this purpose.
- Demonstrates technical, practical and academic knowledge to manage the department.
- Identifies and utilizes processes and resources that support optimal delivery of data and information to staff.
- Meets patient care requirements and staffing needs.
- Responsible for personnel functions including staffing, retention, performance reviews and corrective action.
- Promotes professional growth and development of employees.
- Incorporates customer needs and expectations into daily operations and business planning strategies.
- Prepares and manages operating and capital budgets for areas of responsibility.
- Networks with peers to share ideas and conduct mutual problem solving.
- Recognizes/communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication in a timely manner.
- Promotes and demonstrates a professional image of nursing.
- Monitors the delivery of nursing care on assigned units.
- Develops, implements, monitors and assesses processes that impact patient outcomes.
- Assists in meeting department/hospital KPI's related to: Patient outcomes, customer satisfaction, financial performance, organizational effectiveness, community health care
Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital is an acute care, full service 369-bed medical center serving Arlington, Texas and the North Texas area. This facility offers a variety of services and specialties, including a 19-bed ICU and 20-bed CCU.
