Assists with skills specifically identified on skills checklists for which training and competency has been established. These may include but not limited to vital signs, weights, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living and patient transfers/transport. Job Responsibilities: Assists with procedures ordered by physician and supervised by RN or LPN. Assists patients with tending to personal care, activities of daily living and transfers/transport. Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to RN. Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly. Maintains personal growth and development through the ongoing process of formal and informal education. Demonstrates a positive, concerned and sensitive response in the workplace. Ability to read, write and speak English and to follow oral and written instructions. Good interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff. Ability to perform basic mathematics. Other duties as assigned.Education: High School Diploma or GED.Experience: Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics and reading comprehension at an 8th grade level on a pre-screening assessment. Successful completion of BLS within new hire period.Licensure/Certification/Registration: State Tested Nursing Assistant preferred.Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
