Psychiatrist
We invite you to join our Dunedin-based Community Mental Health Service. Our Community Mental Health Service is sectorised into two teams, and you will work across both teams. There will be opportunities to participate in planning and implementing improvements in service delivery.
You will have ample opportunity for teaching psychiatric registrars, house officers, medical students, and students from other health disciplines. You will be encouraged to utilise the research and training opportunities afforded us by our close relationship with the Otago University Medical School's Department of Psychological Medicine.
You will work in a multi-disciplinary community-based environment and be part of a close-knit group providing psychiatric assessment and treatment using a recovery-based model on an outpatient and/or outreach basis for adults with mental disorders. If you have an interest in Primary Health Care there will be exciting opportunities to contribute as the region moves to a single PHO next year.
To be successful in this role you'll need to have a flexible approach and enjoy working in a changing environment. You'll have to be enthusiastic about teaching and willing to contribute to your trainees' education and development.
Fellowship with the RANZCP or the equivalent and being eligible for registration with the NZ Medical Council
