DescriptionRN/Digestive Health Center (Clinical Nurse II)The University of Maryland, Digestive Health Center offers an opportunity for an experienced RN to provide comprehensive care to patients presenting for treatment related to a digestive health diagnosis.The Digestive Health Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center combines the specialties of gastroenterology, general surgery and plastic surgery in multiple programs to treat a broad range of diseases in a single, convenient location. The Center meets the diverse needs of patients with complex, or persistent symptoms requiring further evaluation for accurate diagnosis, treatment and management of GERD, LERD, esophageal motility disorders, hernia, inflammatory bowel disease, thyroid disease and other associated digestive disorders. We have expanded our comprehensive list of services so that we can offer a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures aimed at improving the quality of life. The Digestive Health Center also has a Thyroid program, Heartburn and dyspepsia program and the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program, including infusion services.Working in close collaboration with our multi specialty teams, the RN/CN is involved in the management of our ambulatory patients to ensure continuity of care by coordinating care services, advocacy, counseling, education, health promotion, and administration of specialized treatments. The position offers a full time, Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm work schedule.The successful candidate will hold Maryland licensure as an RN. A Bachelors in Nursing is preferred. At least three years of clinical experience in nursing is necessary, with clinical experience in a comparable setting preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to determine effective age-appropriate treatment are necessary.
