DescriptionRN/Pre-Transplant Nurse CoordinatorUniversity of Maryland Medical Center, a Magnet-designated facility, is seeking an experienced RN Coordinator (CC) with a desire to join our premier multidisciplinary team in the Solid Organ Transplant Program. The CC provides leadership in the management of patients pre organ transplantation. Our Department of Transplantation program serves as a referral center for patients in Maryland and beyond.This key role provides comprehensive patient care to and coordinates multidisciplinary care for solid organ pre-transplant candidates. Duties include, but are not limited to: designing patient pre-transplant evaluations, including clinical work-ups; triaging all pre-transplant candidate phone calls, coordinating scheduling, preparation and follow-up for procedures and diagnostic studies; scheduling of all pre-hospitalization medical procedures, testing, clinic visits and meetings and coordination of data collection and documentation requirements.The successful candidate will hold licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland. A BSN is preferred. Three years of recent applicable clinical experience is necessary, with critical care or transplant nursing experience preferred.Key competencies in this role include demonstrated effectiveness as a multidisciplinary team member, demonstrated ability to plan, organize and follow through on assignments and/or projects and the ability to analyze and conceptually develop ideas and proposals.
