Develops, implements, measures, and monitors quality indicators and identifies opportunities for improvement through the establishment of monitors to identify patterns and trends. Assesses, analyzes, recommends, and facilitates opportunities to improve patient care. Integrates and coordinates efforts to promote efficiency in management and utilization of systems and resources. This individual facilitates quality improvement programs through unit, division, and/or department committee as appropriate. Prepares reports for various levels of committees in the organization, works collaboratively, and facilitates interdepartmental and inter-campus quality improvement programs. Provides leadership through community involvement, committee work, and participation in research. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patients age-specific needs is required. The National Association for Healthcare Quality Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice (2004), the ANA Code of Ethics for Nursing (2001) and the Code of Ethics for Healthcare Quality Professionals provide the basis for practice.Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred. Bachelor's or master's degree must be in nursing. Minimum three years of recent nursing experience in a related clinical area. Current Arizona registered nurse licensure required.Other Qualifications: Demonstrated clinical nursing competence, leadership, and management skills, along with quality assessment/improvement techniques and tools. Knowledge of accreditation and licensure standards. Must be highly motivated, flexible, innovative, self-directed, and able to manage time effectively. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and accomplish goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Strong computer skills preferred.Prefer experience in quality management analyst or coordinator role; Candidate will have responsibility in quality management activities within the Department of Anesthesia in addition to Surgical Services.License or Certification: Certification as Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.Benefit Eligible: YesExemption Status: ExemptHours/Pay Period: Exempt: Minimum of 80 hours per pay period.Schedule Details: Monday - Friday, PrimarilyWeekend Schedule: NoneCompensation Detail: Salaried - Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
