May also function as Logistical Flow Facilitator when necessary.Reports To: Director - Care Coordination CenterTitles Supervised: NoneQualifications:Education: Minimum of an Associate's degree. Four-year Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Human Resources management, Healthcare Administration or other related area of concentration preferred. Experience: Experience in the staffing and recruiting industry as well as experience in human resources and customer service required. Hospital or healthcare staffing experience preferred. Licensure:None. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to work in fast-paced environment. Works well under pressure. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient with computer specifically Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc. Strong organizational and planning skills.Responsibility #1: Formulates staffing plans. Works collaboratively on a daily basis to formulate staffing plans to meet the needs of the units. Maintains knowledge and database of staff skills and areas of competency to appropriately assign staff. Utilizes PRN/Pool staff and scheduled off staff to meet the staffing needs on the units before enlisting any agency staff. Maintains the PRN/Pool of various levels of caregivers by ensuring competency requirements are met for all staffed units and availability scheduled are continuously maintained.Responsibility #2: Integrates and manages scheduling for direct care units and service areas for all staff providing direct patient care and services. Assesses patient acuity, census and staff availability on a hospital-wide basis and assigns and adjust staffing utilizing a staffing grid. Communicates in real time with each unit-based Staff Flow Facilitator to ensure adequate coverage of patient care staff on each unit for current and oncoming shifts. Apprises the Patient Placement Facilitator and unit-based Staff Flow Facilitator when scheduling conflicts occur that could affect patient flow. Maintains future projections for staff at least 7 days in advance. Maintains up-to-date and accurate staffing worksheets in the computer staffing program. Communicates staffing assignments to the units in a timely manner.Responsibility #3: Coordinates with external agencies for use of qualified agency staff when patient census and acuity exceed facility staff availability. Communicates "just in time" staffing needs and projected needs with outside agencies. Coordinates orientation and computer education prior to agency staff working at the hospital. Cancels agency staff within defined time frames to avoid financial penalty. Maintains all agency staff files ensuring all regulatory agency requirements are met.Responsibility #4: Provides general clerical support to the HUB. Orders and maintains adequate office supplies. Maintains complete and accurate records of call-outs. Monitors and processes time and attendance.
