THEATRE PRACTITIONER: Cardiac Surgery
250-bedded London hospital, highly regarded for outstanding Cardiac services, is looking to recruit and experienced Scrub nurse, skilled in Cardiac procedures.

JOB PROFILE
Working as a Scrub nurse on one of the 3 dedicated Cardiac Operating Theatres.
Duties to include (but not limited to)
* Skin preparation prior to surgery.
* Draping.
* Assisting with patients' positioning.
* Assisting surgeon with all required aspects of the surgical
procedure.
* Use and maintenance of specialised surgical equipment
relevant to cardiac surgery.
* Handling instruments.
* Male/female catheterization.
* Cutting of sutures and ties.
* Assisting with haemostasis in order to secure and maintain a
clear operating field.
* Use of suction and electrocautery.
* Assistance with wound closure and application of dressing.
Transfer of patient to post anaesthetic care unit
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have:
* Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience working as a scrub nurse in the operating theatre.
* At least 1 year post graduate experience working as a scrub nurse in the cardiac specialty
* Ability to communicate fluently in English (speaking, listening and writing)
* Hold current NMC registration, or eligibility to obtain NMC registration
SALARY & BENEFITS
£28,000-32,000 per year depending on experience.
