The RN will function within the Mayo Nursing Care Model (http://mayoweb.mayo.edu/nurs-gen/care-model.htm), which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for patients. The ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and the AAACN Ambulatory Care Nursing Administration and Practice Standards provide a basis for the practice of the registered nurse in the ambulatory setting. The Registered Nurse (RN) supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN must possess excellent communication skills, be skillful in mentoring and teaching, and actively participate on committees or projects. In the Charge Nurse role, the RN will act as the clinical resource person in their work area for the length of time they are on duty. They will assure the patient care provided during the shift they work is organized and carried out in a safe, efficient manner. (008179)Basic Qualifications: -Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. -Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency. Current Minnesota registered nurse license or graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a permit to practice as a graduate.Other Qualifications: -Works flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. -Collects, compares, sorts, and prioritizes information to be used in the decision-making process for groups of patients and employees. -Adapts to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. -Good communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with Mayo computer programs: Synthsis, Mayo Integrated Clinical Systems (MICS), Clinical Document Management Reports (CDM), Electronic Medical Record, Enterprise Orders Prescribing.Benefit Eligible: NoExemption Status: Non-ExemptHours/Pay Period: Up to 80 hours, negoitiableSchedule Details: Shift length varies, Day/Evening until 8:30 p.m.Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
